Hope For Youth

Family Ties Welcomes Lisa Zosimo

Hope For Youth would like to congratulate employee Lisa Zosimo on her promotion to Program Manager at Family Ties! Lisa recently received her Masters in Social Work at Stony Brook University. As one of the founders of the Therapeutic Foster Care program she will be missed greatly.

However, we are excited for the kids that she will be working with now as she has many new and great ideas. One of them is to replace the old toys in the Family Ties home with new ones, and we have already received a fabulous toy kitchen donation from one of our community members!

Graduation Highlight: Elizabeth C

It has been an encouragement to see the motivation and perseverance of Elizabeth C. from the Therapeutic Foster Care program. Originally placed in the Family Ties sibling program, Elizabeth has worked tremendously hard to overcome the challenges set before her.

During her placement in foster care, Elizabeth has worked closely with HFY staff, mentor, tutors and foster parents to prepare her for this vital part of her life. She has studied hard, worked on independent living skills to keep her focused on succeeding academically and has set goals to keep her on track.  Additionally, Elizabeth has maintained her grades while actively competing in basketball and track during the winter and spring sport seasons.

Elizabeth graduated and has been accepted to Nassau Community College. She will begin her higher education experience and plans on pursuing a career in criminal justice.

We are proud to highlight Elizabeth’s accomplishments as she continues to triumph in all that she sets her mind to achieve.
