Triage and Drop-In Center Donation

With pleasure, we share the news that we recently received a $12,500 donation from the Gladys & Mildred Tomiak Foundation. As you might know, Hope For Youth operates the only Runaway & Homeless Youth Shelter of its kind in Suffolk County, NY. This program serves runaway youth and hiomeless youth, at risk of exploitation and violence, and often having experienced child abuse and neglect.

These funds are the initial donation that will support construction of a Triage and Drop-In Center at he Shelter. This will provide a aspace whre homeless youth may have a shower, get a meal, do laundry and receive crisis counseling but not necesarily be admitted to the formal shelter program. Often youth are not reayf to accept the structire that atteds adnission to emergency housing butcan be engaged in short-term outreach.

This support will be used to begin the work on our much anticipated Drop-In Center and we are so grateful. Thank you!!
