Child Abuse Prevention Month
Since 1979, April has been designated as Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month. This month has become a time of special observance of those children who tragically died as a result of child abuse and neglect. And it is also a time to raise awareness to increase preventative measures that strengthen and protect the most vulnerable in our nation’s families. Focus is on recommitting efforts and resources aimed at protecting children and strengthening families, and promoting community involvement through activities that support the cause.
Children are the foundation of our society, our community and our future. We each have the opportunity to play a role in recognizing the importance of promoting safety and the well-being of children and families throughout our communities.
