HFY Foster Parents Are Awesome

Our foster youth are cared for by some amazing people. Foster parents who were pandemic-strong. Here are some facts regarding our foster parents: Our foster families provided summer distractions last year and holiday fun through offering safe and stable homes, staycations, and home game times throughout the pandemic. Our foster parents taught youth in care how to be careful with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and when permitted, encouraged youth to go to school and work. Many foster parents took on-line courses in order to maintain their 12 hours of training required by NYS for recertification. We had foster parents come into the main office to learn how to use a tablet, and be able to access available on-line training courses. Our foster parents supported virtual therapy sessions and virtual visits so that youth were able to maintain important connections. We are grateful for all our amazing foster parents!
