Youth Shelter Program Officially Opens with Honored Guests!

On Tuesday June 21st, we officially opened the doors to our new Youth Shelter Program, months in the making!

Among our guests were Suffolk County Executive Steven Bellone, Senator Phil Boyle, Reverend Roderick Pearson of the Suffolk County Youth Bureau, Jason Richberg representing Legislator DuWayne Gregory, and Lakeisha Lewis representing NYS Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre. We also had many visitors that helped get the shelter in tip top shape such as Lynn Montouri of IKEA Long Island and Barbara Nelson of Rebuilding Together Long Island!

We are so grateful to everyone who came and helped make this day so special. We heard compelling remarks by Dr. Hegarty, County Executive Bellone, and Senator Boyle and the video can be found here! Please send our program a like while you’re at that link, it helps children in need find the shelter!

The ribbon cutting was a rousing success and special thanks to Kate Travers and Jeanette Lukas for making it all possible.

 Time to change lives!
