As the Boy Scout Motto says, “Be prepared!” Many thanks to local Scout Christian Capobianco. Young children who arrive at our door by means of the Department of Social Services or other local agencies will now find a little comfort through a new teddy bear. Christian, a Boy Scout and 7th grader at Howitt Middle School in Farmingdale, recently delivered much-needed teddy bears that he collected from his local community.
In addition to reaching out to his friends and family for donations, he placed custom designed collection boxes at local community sites.
His mother explains that the earned Boy Scout Achievement credits are simply just a byproduct of Christian’s compassionate efforts. After many personal conversations and much reflection, Christian decided that his peers deserve some of the same basic “kid stuff,” that he has… like a teddy bear.
And for that, Hope For Youth thanks you, Christian!!! We are happy to have you as part of our family of enthusiastic supporters who actively contribute towards our mission!

Christian Capobianco accepts a Certificate of Recognition
from HFY Executive Director and CEO Dr. David Hegarty.
