We can't stop saying THANK YOU to everyone who contributed money, toys, time and effort into making this year's Holiday Season a truly joyous one for all of the Hope For Youth children...
Mercedes-Benz of Massapequa threw quite a Holiday bash for our Family Ties residents. Going well beyond their normal call of duty, the dealership employees set up a festive party, shopped and assembled toys, and welcomed our children into their hearts.
St. George’s University in Great River spent much of their valuable time in November and December accepting donations from staff, students, alumni, and visitors to benefit our many children in foster and group homes. From basket balls to Barbie dolls, their generosity was met by cheers and “YAY”s on Christmas morning!
As they do each year, congregants of the First Presbyterian Church of Smithtown shared their holiday spirit by collecting and wrapping toys for the Hope For Youth children. We are fortunate to have them as long-time supporters.
The US Marine Corps. and their Toys For Tots Foundation came through in a big way this year. Filling each square inch of our van with toys for our children, they ensured that every wish list was fulfilled. (And they were!)
Thanks to the efforts and generosity of the Education and Assistance Corp.'s Chance to Advance Program and the Marie Gubitosi Foundation, several of our children enjoyed a holiday shopping spree at the East Meadow Walmart. RC trucks, Easy Bake oven, Justin Bieber CD… what’s better than that?!
Girl Scout Troop #1070's Kaitlyn Seager spent over $1300 purchasing pajamas to benefit the children of Hope For Youth. This Long Island Girl Scout and Valley Stream South HS Senior raised the funds at a foster-care tolerance workshop she produced in September. With the help of Pajama Party, Kaitlyn has given the gift of sweet dreams to children who in many cases have never owned a pair of pajamas.
Hope For Youth was fortunate to benefit from the Payless Gives Grant. As a Payless Gives Shoes 4 Kids Partner, we gave our children the opportunity to purchase new shoes just in time for the winter months!
